Chakra Breathing

Official instructions · Music · iOsho · YouTube · Music hub

Why this method

Fast breath through a vertical chakra sequence; music marks tempo. Can feel like a workout; integration lying down is not optional. Hydrate; do not treat class as ego competition with the person next to you. Energy moves when breath is honest, not when you perform intensity for show.

Background

Part of later Osho body-energy methods when chakras were taught as experiential map, not comic-book neon. Breath pace standardized on recordings for group sync.

Stages

  1. Breath — Follow the leader’s pace: inhale/exhale focused at each energy center in turn.
  2. Rest — Lie down; let the nervous system settle without judging after-images.

Why the stages are ordered this way

Rapid breath charges sequential centers as felt sensation, not belief. Rest integrates nervous system—skipping rest leaves you wired, not meditative.

Safety and contraindications

Pregnancy, heart disease, high BP, panic disorder, recent abdominal surgery—medical clear first. Stop if numbness or panic escalates.

Group or solo

Groups with leader pace prevent breath racing. Solo demands official music and conservative speed until you know your ceiling.

Common questions

Must I believe in chakras?
Treat as body landmarks along spine—sensation matters, ideology optional.
Dizzy?
Slow down; this is not a contest. Sit out a round if needed.
Difference from Dynamic breath?
Chakra Breathing follows vertical sequence and tempo music; Dynamic stage one is chaotic nasal breath.
